From May 5 to 8, AGF held its annual Health and Safety Week, a dedicated awareness week aimed at strengthening our HSE culture.
The objective was simple: improve prevention, reinforce safe habits and reduce risks at the source on job sites, in our shops and in our offices. It was an opportunity to bring safety back to the heart of our everyday actions.
As Julie Trépanier, Health and Safety Director – East, points out:
“The strength of our OHS culture lies in its consistency. Health and Safety Week allows us to reconnect teams with the right reflexes and strengthen them together.”
Rather than relying on a single message, the week came to life through a series of simple and interactive activities:
The goal was not to overwhelm employees, but to offer practical and relevant activities that employees could easily apply in their day-to-day work.
This week also highlighted the essential role of AGF’s Health and Safety team, which supports operations year-round through training, audits, inspections, incident investigations, PPE management, prequalification, and ongoing support across sites, shops and offices, as well as maintaining key standards and more.
According to Kamran Ahmad, Health and Safety Manager – West:
“Safety only becomes truly effective when it is lived out in the field, through conversations and daily decisions.”
HSE Week was a reminder that safety does not rely on one department or one rule, but on simple actions repeated and shared by everyone.
From May 5 to 8, at AGF, we didn’t just talk about health and safety, we practiced it, challenged ourselves and improved together.
