When expertise moves from one business unit to another, the full strength of the AGF network comes into action!
That is exactly what is currently happening in Guadeloupe, where several rebar placers from our Longueuil team crossed the Atlantic to lend a hand to Acier AGF Guadeloupe on a major project in the energy sector.
It is a particularly impressive project for Guadeloupe, where projects of this scale remain relatively rare.
The strength of the AGF network in action
To meet the project’s needs, Jean-Sébastien Richer – the project foreman – and several placers from the Longueuil team travelled to Guadeloupe to take charge of the rebar installation. Their experience and qualifications allow them to work on this project, which requires specific skills.
This mobilization is a great example of the synergy that exists between AGF’s business units. Thanks to the diversity of its teams, the Group can call on the right resources according to project needs, even when they are located several thousand kilometres away.
Internal mobility is also one of the opportunities available to AGF employees, and several of them have already had the chance to work in different business units across the Group. In this case, the process was also facilitated by an international labour mobility agreement with this French overseas territory, allowing employees from Quebec to quickly obtain the required work permits.
For our participating colleagues, this assignment also represents a unique opportunity to discover a new work environment, become familiar with local practices, and contribute to a major project for an international client.
Quality and OHS recognized by the client
On site, the work of AGF’s teams stands out for its quality of execution and the rigour applied to occupational health and safety.
Our client also highlighted the exemplary quality of the work and the OHS practices of the team on site, both in terms of wearing personal protective equipment and managing risks.
Synergy and team spirit
An important first stage of AGF’s involvement was recently completed, and the work will continue over the coming months.
This project perfectly illustrates what our presence in several regions of the world can make possible: putting the right people in the right place, sharing our expertise, and joining forces to meet our clients’ needs.
Congratulations to the Longueuil team members who made the trip, as well as to everyone contributing to this great collaboration.
