AGF is proud to contribute to the improvement of Ruta 66 (Route 66), also known as El Camino de la Fruta, in Chile, in partnership with Sacyr Chile. This key route crosses the regions of O’Higgins, Metropolitana, and Valparaíso, and plays a crucial role in transporting agricultural products to major cities and export ports.
The project involves widening certain sections of the road, adding new two-lane segments, and upgrading existing infrastructure. These improvements aim to boost road safety, streamline freight transport, and enhance quality of life for the surrounding communities.
Technical aspects of the project
AGF Chile is responsible for two key components: the supply of cut and bent rebar, and the prefabrication of steel piles assembled directly in the shop. In total, over 3,700 tonnes of rebar and more than 1,600 tonnes of prefabricated piles will be produced and delivered to the site.
Project timeline
AGF’s involvement began in April 2024 with the prefabrication and delivery of piles, most of which have already been shipped to the site. In August 2024, AGF Chile started delivering the cut and bent rebar. These deliveries are still underway and will continue over the coming months, in line with the project’s progress.
Congratulations to the entire AGF Chile team for their great work on this project!
