A fast-paced, ambitious project
In Charlemagne (Quebec), AGF is proud to contribute to a major residential construction project, the WE Charlemagne. This project, comprising 250 units spread across two 6-story buildings, will require approximately 1,500 metric tons of reinforcing steel. To date, 600 tons have already been delivered, with daily shipments of 30 to 50 tons ensuring steady progress.
Project progress
The foundations for the first building are nearing completion in record time, while work on the second building (Building B) is well underway, with the second of three foundation slabs currently being executed. This construction site involves 6 to 10 AGF employees, who are working tirelessly to meet the tight schedule.
A technical challenge brilliantly met
The project is notable for the size of its foundation slabs and footings, which are key technical features of the site. However, one of the greatest challenges lies in the clay-based soil, which is non-load-bearing. To address this, our teams are using lean concrete to stabilize the ground before proceeding with the installation of the steel framework.
Kudos to our on-site teams, and thank you to Groupe Magma for trusting AGF.
