AGF is proud to participate in two large-scale wind farm projects in eastern Canada, in collaboration with Northeast Construction. We are involved in the Benjamins Mill Wind Farm project in Nova Scotia and the Eastern Kings Wind Farm project, located in Prince Edward Island. These two wind farms align with renewable energy sources efforts, thus reinforcing our commitment to a more sustainable future.
Benjamins Mill Wind Farm

For the Benjamins Mill Wind Farm project, located in Windsor, Nova Scotia, AGF is responsible for the detailing, supplying, and installation of rebar for seven wind turbine bases, requiring 297 metric tons of rebar. The detailing, production of rebar in the shop and the first deliveries to the site took place in August 2024, with the rebar installation currently underway. The project is expected to be completed by April 2025.
One of the main challenges of this project is the logistics and transportation. Access to the site is located deep in the forest on rocky terrain, complicating the movement of trucks carrying heavy loads. However, thanks to meticulous planning and the expertise of our teams, we are overcoming these difficulties while adhering to the expected completion date.
Eastern Kings Wind Farm

For the Eastern Kings Wind Farm, located in Kings County, Prince Edward Island, AGF is also responsible for the detailing, supplying and installation of rebar for seven wind turbine bases, requiring approximately 378 metric tons of rebar. The detailing and production were completed in August 2024 and the rebar installation on-site will soon be finished.
A similar logistical challenge occurring with Benjamins Mill is the distance between the turbine bases, which are several kilometers apart. Transport management is taking the ferry schedules into account to ensure smooth operations and thanks to the careful planning and optimal coordination between our teams, we are successfully overcoming this challenge.
Collaboration Between Our Divisions
The success of these projects relies on the collective expertise of our teams. The rebar detailing and fabrication are entirely carried out by our Longueuil division, while installation on-site is managed by our rebar workers from Halifax and Calgary. The Halifax teams benefit from their strategic involvement on the sites, while the Calgary teams, with their experience in wind farm projects, provide valuable support to ensure smooth and precise work.

Through these efforts, we demonstrate our commitment to successfully delivering large-scale projects, ensuring smooth operations, and guaranteeing customer satisfaction. The synergy between AGF’s divisions is a major asset that allows us to effectively coordinate each step, from rebar detailing to the installation, and successfully overcome challenges.
