Things are moving in Vancouver for AGF Rebar! In recent weeks, the team welcomed a new general manager: Tony Hernandez. Tony has 31 years of experience in structural steel construction. He has been the president of the British Columbia regional committee of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) and has extensive experience in the Canadian and American markets. We are very pleased that he has chosen to join the AGF family and are confident that he will be an excellent addition to our team.
On the project side, the AGF Rebar Vancouver team has been very active on various types of sites recently:
- Expansion of Stride Elementary School in Burnaby (Yellowridge Construction) and St Johns Paul II Academy (D.G.S Construction)
- Construction of a new water treatment plant from the Capilano River, including 3 service buildings (North America Construction Ltd.)
- Improvement of student housing offerings for the British Institute of Technology by participating in the construction of 470 units for the “Tall Timber Student Housing” (Ledcor)
- Manufacturing and installation of the slab and pile caps as part of phase 1 of the reconstruction of the Richmond Psychiatric Hospital (Halse-Martin Construction Ltd.)
- Reconstruction of the Baxter Bridge, including mainly stainless steel (Formula Contractors) and the Dewdney Bridge on Highway 7 (Kiewit)
- Expansion of the WestShore Terminal facilities in Vancouver, to integrate the handling and shipping of 4.5 MMT of potash per year (Kingston Construction).
More exciting projects are expected in the coming months. The entire AGF Rebar team in Vancouver is looking forward to collaborating with its clients on sites that enhance the daily lives of the region’s residents.
