On June 6, 85 AGF managers gathered in Kitchener (ON) for a strategic meeting that featured the fourth edition of the AGF Golden Rebar Awards, an event celebrating the teams that best embodied our organization’s core values.
Masterfully hosted by Sébastien Delorme and Sladana Vlaco Mrsic, the evening was filled with recognition, humour and a strong sense of collective pride.
Here’s a look at the 2025 award recipients.
Performance: spotlight on Caraquet
With a small but ambitious team, AGF Caraquet proved that excellence and agility can go hand in hand. Thanks to outstanding operational discipline, the division delivered exceptional financial results.
A special mention goes to Gilles Gallien and Jules Paulin, an inseparable duo and true pillars of AGF Caraquet’s performance for many years.
Team Spirit: strength through unity in Québec / Trois-Rivières
The Québec / Trois-Rivières business units provided unwavering support to their colleagues across the country over the past year, from Longueuil and Sherbrooke to Ottawa, Ontario, and even our Western divisions. They also played a key role in securing AGF’s involvement in the stunning Île d’Orléans Bridge, delivered outstanding health and safety results on the AP-60 project, and maintained solid financial performance and consistency within their team.
Leadership: Ontario leading the way
Always striving to improve, the Ontario team showed strong leadership by driving initiatives focused on efficiency and quality. Their close collaboration between project managers and the finance team truly set them apart this year.
Their passion for performance indicators is legendary, some say it’s an Olympic-level discipline! Congratulations to the entire team for this ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence.
Health & Safety: Ontario sets a new benchmark
With over 200 days without a recordable incident at its Scarborough and Kitchener plants, zero lost-time incidents and an impressive 55% drop in hand injuries, the Ontario team raised the bar for prevention.
A huge thank you to our HSE managers, Julie Trépanier and Kamran Ahmad, who are fostering a safety culture as solid as the rebar we install across Canada every day.
Community Involvement: Longueuil, a generous heart
The Longueuil business unit stood out for its outstanding community involvement, from supporting the LDT Foundation to participating in the 24h Tremblant challenge and the “Les Audacieuses” Leucan head-shaving campaign, just to name a few. Nine colleagues even shaved their heads in support of the cause.
Through these actions, AGF’s true DNA shines through; building not only cities and communities, but also a strong social fabric that benefits everyone.
A night to remember
With heartfelt tributes and lighthearted moments, the evening served as a reminder that at AGF, performance goes hand in hand with people. Our 2025 award recipients inspired us with their commitment, discipline, and ability to push boundaries.
Congratulations to all the nominees and winners. Keep shining and be proud of everything you accomplish.
