Preserving your mental health

In these complicated times, physical and mental health is at the heart of the AGF Group’s concerns. 
Since we’re far apart from each other, it’s important to keep in touch, so the Group has set up weekly virtual meetings: Let’s Stay Together.  

Facilitated by the AGF Group’s Mental Health team, these weekly discussions, which are open to all employees, allow colleagues to see each other, exchange views on various topics and share advice and best practices.  (As an AGF’s employee you want to participe in these discussione please contact us : communication@agfgroup.com)

During the first discussion, one of the topics was preserving our mental health in these difficult times. To this end, the HR Department is sharing you an interesting article from Medisys with five tips for good mental health.

1. Keep in mind that everyone reacts differently to stressful situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic
How you respond to this pandemic and the intensity of the emotions you feel have a lot to do with your background, your mental and physical health, your life experiences and your community. Give yourself permission to experience your emotions and be aware of responding in a healthy way.

2. Stay in touch 
During this time of physical distancing, remember that our only job is to maintain physical distance from others. Continuing to interact socially is more important than ever. 

3. Limit your news consumption 
Constantly reading, listening to or watching the news can heighten anxiety and fears about COVID-19. It is important to stay informed, but rather than looking for updates throughout the day, limit the time you spend searching for information and check reputable news sources.

4. Practice mindfulness and self-care 
In times of increased stress, it’s crucial to give priority to sleep, good nutrition and self-care. It’s important to take time every day—even if it’s only 15 minutes—to do something you enjoy. It will help you stay in the present moment. (meditate, do some stretches, take a bath, cook, write in your journal, read a book for pleasure).

5. Ask for help if you need it 
If you or someone you care about is feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or sadness, contact a relative, friend.

Mantener la salud mental

Durante este periodo difícil, la salud física y mental se encuentra al centro de las preocupaciones de Grupo AGF.

Como es importante mantenerse en contacto mientras estamos lejos unos de otros, Grupo AGF organizó reuniones virtuales semanales: Mantengámonos Unidos.

Organizadas por el equipo de Salud Mental de Grupo AGF, estas discusiones semanales, en las que todos los empleados pueden participar, permiten que todos puedan verse, conversar sobre diferentes temas y difundir consejos y buenas prácticas.

Durante la primera discusión, evidentemente el tema era cómo mantener nuestra salud mental en estos momentos difíciles. Para hacerlo, el departamento de recursos humanos compartió un artículo interesante de Medysis que enumera cinco consejos para mantener una buena salud mental.

1. Estar consciente de que cada uno reacciona de manera diferente en situaciones de estrés como la pandemia del virus de la COVID-19.

La manera en la que reacciona ante esta pandemia y la intensidad de las emociones que siente tienen mucho que ver con sus antecedentes, su estado de salud mental y física, su experiencia de vida y su comunidad. Permítase vivir sus emociones y esté consciente para reaccionar de una manera sana.

2. Manténganse comunicado.

Durante este periodo de distanciamiento físico, recuerde que nuestra obligación es solamente distanciarnos físicamente unos de otros. Seguir comunicándonos socialmente es más importante que nunca.

3. Limite el consumo de noticias.

El hecho de leer, de escuchar o de ver constantemente las informaciones pueden empeorar la ansiedad y el miedo que acompaña al virus de la COVID-19. Es importante mantenerse informado, pero en vez de buscar actualizaciones durante todo el día, dedique un periodo de tiempo limitado a la búsqueda de información e infórmese a partir de fuentes de noticias reputadas.

4. Practique la consciencia plena y realice cuidados personales.

En un periodo de estrés extremo, es esencial darle prioridad al sueño, a una buena alimentación y a los cuidados personales. Es importante reservarse tiempo todos los días, aunque sea 15 minutos, para hacer algo que le guste; eso lo hará estar en el momento presente. (Meditar, hacer estiramientos, tomar un baño, cocinar, escribir un diario, leer un libro por placer…)

5. Pida ayuda cuando lo necesite.

Si usted, o algún ser querido, se siente invadido por la ansiedad o la tristeza, comuníquese con un miembro de su familia, un amigo o PAE-MANUVIE (día y noche, todos los días).
