About the AGF Group Foundation
The AGF Group Foundation aims to give back to the communities where the AGF Group is present in Canada, to create bonds among the employees and partners of the Group, and in general, to help develop a culture of philanthropy.
History
At the origin of the Foundation, there is a desire to come together to make a difference in the community.

The philanthropic culture evolved within the company with the implementation of payroll deduction in favor of CENTRAIDE in the 1990s.

In 2012, Serge Gendron wanted to give greater impetus to the philanthropic movement and then created the AGF Group Foundation, which allows AGF employees to get involved in organizations in their community.

Over the years, the Foundation has been structured, fine-tuned its organization and continued to develop: up to 100 fundraisers are now organized each year and support 120 charities.

Our Commitments
Since 2018, the AGF Group Foundation has been providing financial support to Canada’s largest teaching hospital for mental health (CAMH), recognized for its leadership in care, research, education, and social change. Each year, more than 3,000 doctors, clinicians, researchers, and teachers provide clinical care to over 34,000 patients. This shows just how vital its role is to our community. We are proud to support Mental Health!
Our Commitments
Since 2021, Restoring Hope has been helping young people aged 16 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness, marginalization, and exploitation in the Ottawa area. It is thanks to Jason Pino, a former employee of the AGF business unit in Ottawa, that we discovered this organization and its important mission. Jason set up the shelter while he was still working with us. The shelter, now open seven days a week, provides essential support to the most vulnerable youth.

Through its commitment since 2013, the AGF Group Foundation offers scholarships to several students, as well as financial support to develop an entrepreneurial culture and innovation at the University of Montreal and at Polytechnique Montreal.
Our Commitments
La Tablée des Chefs‘ mission is to feed people in need and develop culinary education for young people across Canada. Thanks to significant financial support from the AGF Group Foundation, exceeding $1 million since 2014, more than 1 million meals have been recycled and 30,000 young people have benefited from workshops as part of the culinary brigade program in Quebec and other provinces.
Our Commitments
The AGF Group Foundation has been supporting the University of Sherbrooke since 2023 through its Entrepreneurship Research Center, within the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Management. This research center conducts diverse and cutting-edge research in the entrepreneurial field, focusing on three key themes: women entrepreneurship, technological and scientific entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial failure. We are delighted to support entrepreneurship in all its forms!
Our Commitments
The AGF Group Foundation is proud to announce its first commitment in Eastern Canada to the Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus Foundation. This organization was unanimously selected by employees from AGF Olympic business unit in Caraquet as the recipient of funds to improve healthcare and services for their community.
Our Commitments
This Center is a second home where the essential needs of adults with disabilities are met. It is a place of well-being and excellence serving families. The Centre’s teams have launched an ambitious project to renovate the Manoir Pavilion to provide a suitable living environment for clients in the heart of the Island St-Bernard. The AGF Group Foundation has been a proud partner of the Centre since 2016 and participated in the inauguration of the Manoir in August 2025
Our Commitments
AGF is proud to have supplied the rebar used to build the Mental Health Pavilion, which houses a walk-in clinic and day hospital that are unique in the country and entirely dedicated to the well-being of young people experiencing mental health issues. Our commitment to mental health and children continues from within since 2021, thanks to the AGF Group Foundation’s support of the art therapy program, which provides children with a space to express themselves, develop resilience, and heal through creativity.
Our Commitments
Based in Ontario, Moorelands Kids has been empowering children and youth to overcome barriers and build essential life and leadership skills since 1912. Through year-round programs, the organization helps young people grow into confident leaders, first of themselves, then of their communities.
The AGF Group Foundation supports Moorelands Kids through a yearly commitment since 2025, that enables a family of three children to attend summer camp and participate in the Holiday Sharing program. Our employees further support their mission through ongoing fundraising initiatives such as Canada Day Potluck and volunteer involvement, helping create meaningful experiences and lasting impact for kids and families.

The Board is supported by Marianne Petit, the Foundation’s Director of Development and Communications.
Currently, the Foundation has 20 ambassadors located in our business units in Canada. They are the true voice of the Foundation and participate in finding dynamic ways to grow it in their division: organizing fundraisers, developing partnerships with local organizations, etc.
An active member of family succession, Catherine Gendron, Head of Organizational Culture of the AGF Group, has been responsible for the general management of the Foundation since 2014. By its dynamism, it makes it grow vigorously, year after year.
It is with the feeling of being indebted and the desire to give back to communities that Serge Gendron, a philanthropist at heart, created the Foundation in 2012.

Committed to and passionate about social impact, Marianne Petite is Director of Development and Communications for the AGF Group Foundation. She uses her expertise in strategy and mobilization to promote the Foundation’s mission and strengthen its ties with community partners.
With her vision and ability to listen, she actively contributes to building lasting bridges between the philanthropic world and the needs on the ground.
