In 2024, the AGF IT team accomplished a tremendous amount of work. To support their numerous projects with additional expertise, they added members to the team:
- Michael Thomas – Programmer Analyst
- Moussaab Bouchekouf – Systems and Network Administrator
- Yves Mathieu Dathia – Oracle Cloud Fusion Support Analyst
- Hervé Pilorge – Oracle Cloud Functional Analyst
Support, IT Operations, and Network
Throughout the year, the IT team handled 8,142 support requests (an increase of more than 13% compared to 2023) and served over 800 users! This growth in ticket volume has provided a clear understanding of the organization’s evolving needs.
However, IT services at AGF go far beyond first-level support. The team actively enhances IT services with two key priorities:
- IT Service Management (ITSM): Improving equipment visibility and tracking to better address internal requests.
- Platform Integration: Optimizing systems to ensure seamless integration of new divisions resulting from acquisitions, guaranteeing smooth and efficient transitions.
Additionally, the team is optimizing internet connectivity across all sites, improving resources and security by updating servers by migrating them to the cloud, and adding internet connections to factories to enhance infrastructure and communication between production sites.
Information Security
In 2024, the IT team conducted 9 online training courses to raise awareness among staff about risks and unsafe behaviors.
They also carried out 9 phishing simulations, revealing significant progress among users who are now more alert and cautious with suspicious emails. 300 reports of suspicious emails allowed the IT department to intervene quickly.
Lastly, the compliance project for Law 25 mobilized several departments, reinforcing that information security is a collective responsibility.
Major Projects for the Development Team
During the year, the Development team focused its efforts on several key initiatives:
- Oracle Project: Post-deployment support in Western Canada, interface testing and stabilization for optimal performance, and data conversion for future deployments.
- Google Drive Optimization: Assisting employees in optimizing how they work with their documents.
- “Job Log” Project: Collaborating closely with the technical team in Longueuil, led by Charles Tremblay, to deploy a new project management tool aimed at optimizing processes.
Goals for 2025
To continue improving services and meeting user needs, the IT department has defined several strategic objectives for 2025:
- Deploying Windows 11 to all users.
- Advancing the Horizon Project, which includes integrating Oracle ERP and aSa Studio to optimize operational processes.
- Strengthening cloud infrastructure to improve flexibility, scalability, and security.
- Enhancing cybersecurity training to reduce risks to the company.
- Improving IT service offerings to better meet user expectations and boost client satisfaction.
